TEG, the global live entertainment, ticketing and technology company, is thrilled to announce that Ticketek New Zealand is to offer Afterpay as a payment method for fans.
Ticketek New Zealand follows closely in the footsteps of Ticketek Australia, which became the world’s first ticketing platform to offer the world’s largest buy-now-pay later service this month.
Afterpay will be integrated into the ticketek.co.nz website and apps as a payment option from Tuesday, August 4, to coincide with the pre-sale of Duco’s Synthony 2020. Afterpay will give fans the choice to pay for their tickets in four equal fortnightly instalments and secure their seats with the first payment.
TEG Chief Executive Geoff Jones said: “As New Zealand is leading the world with the return of live entertainment, we are pleased that we can offer fans more choice in how they secure tickets to future events. Ticketek with Afterpay does just that and we are thrilled that Ticketek New Zealand is following so closely on from Ticketek Australia to offer this world-first to fans.”
Jones added: “It is a time when we know fans need payment choice. Ticketek with Afterpay gives fans greater flexibility in how they pay for tickets, while further augmenting the customer experience through frictionless payments technology.”
Afterpay Head of ANZ Rachel Kelly said: “We are delighted to partner once again with Ticketek, which are continuing to lead the world in ticketing innovation. Research shows that only 47% of Millennials in NZ use a credit card and it is even less for Gen Z, which is driving the desire to offer Afterpay’s solution for tickets, helping fans to budget by paying in four instalments, and pay responsibility without incurring interest. We expect a solid take up from fans to this option.”
