TEG Live proudly presents Royal Wedding Gospel Choir, The Kingdom Choir, for their inaugural Australian tour in August 2019, with tickets to go on sale 10am Friday 26 October.
The Kingdom Choir’s tour will commence on 3 August 2019 at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, moving to Sydney Opera House on 6 August 2019, before concluding at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on 7 August 2019.
Following their show-stopping performance of ‘Stand By Me’ at the Royal Wedding, in front of nearly 2 billion people, The Kingdom Choir have attracted worldwide acclaim and will perform at the Closing Ceremony of the Invictus Games Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena on 27 October.
Their performance at the Closing Ceremony coincides with the release of their highly anticipated album earlier this month through Sony. Reflecting their popularity, the in-demand Choir will this week make appearances across all Australian TV, radio, press and online/digital media.
The album includes ‘Stand By Me’ as well as a cross section of classic and contemporary vocal driven hits including Australian anthem ‘You’re The Voice’ (John Farnham), ‘Halo’ (Beyoncé), ‘All Of Me’ (John Legend), as well as ‘Blinded By Your Grace Part 2’ (Stormzy).
The choir was founded in London 1994 by award-winning conductor Karen Gibson. The group of singers from in and around London draw from various Christian traditions and are dedicated to creating a sound that demonstrates the community they share through their warm energy and enthusiastic performance.
Karen Gibson said on the announcement of their Australian tour: “The Kingdom Choir are absolutely delighted with the journey of the past few months. We are extremely grateful and excited about the opportunity to share our music with our Australian fans.”
Geoff Jones, TEG CEO and Invictus Games Sydney Board Member said: “After capturing the adoration of the world at the Royal Wedding earlier this year, it’s only fitting that The Kingdom Choir perform at the Games founded by His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex. The Invictus Games Sydney has seen 500 competitors from 18 nations compete in 11 medal sports, and the Closing Ceremony at Qudos Bank Arena will roundout what has been a wonderful event.”
